rear end swap to get disc brakes

From what I see here I'm thinking I should be able to get a newer model rear end and weld on a new set of spring perches to get it to fit. can do. my question is do I also need the master cyl. and proportioning valve from the other vehicle?

If all I need is the rear unit I can get that from the salvage yard for $100.00 as opposed to the $700.00+ for the after market equipment. I just wanted to make sure the rear disc would function properly after the swap'
