Thank you for the add, I'll try and be quick. I bought a 2017 ram 2500 Cummins long box crew cab 4x4 from a dealer with 4800 miles on it, used with a warranty. I just took it in at 20,000 miles with a leaking rear engine seal that they are replacing under warranty. Has anyone had this same problem? Is this a common issue with this vehicle? I bought it to tow and havent towed anything with it yet due to a knee surgery. It's been driven mildly in the 15,000 miles I've owned it. Thanks in advance.

That's not a known issue with the 6.7 Cummins or 6.4 bge
It must be a fluke with your truck

It's kind of amazing they are fixing it, it must be leaking a lot? Usually they say the leak is in tolerance because it costs so much to replace. Very rare, did you run a carfax?

Could also be the rear cam seal. On quick look, that will look like a crank seal leak.

No carfax, I bought it used at the very Ram dealer that sold it new . It had 4800 miles on it when I bought it. Thanks for your input.

They claimed the crank was scratched then it was out of round.
They covered it and a motor at 26000. The dealer had screwed the job. It got a front seal at 5000 and I was kinda waiting for the rear to go due to a bad factory install. Then the dealer screwed it up and damaged the crank. I wish you good luck and no problems.
