Good Morning Gang,

I had a mishap last night backing out of my very tight garage. I banged the driver’s side mirror into the garage door frame and cracked the white mirror cover and broke the lens of my turn signal/puddle lamp. The mirror can still adjust and the power close into the body still works fine so it's just cosmetic.

I’ve found from internet searches and this forum that I can replace the turn signal/puddle lamp assembly but sounds like I am euchred for being able to buy the white mirror cap separately. I just wanted to confirm that is the case.

I am so angry at myself. This truck is pristine. I’ve been burning the candle at all ends for the past three weeks and it’s obviously caught up to me. I’ve been going in and out of my garage since I bought the truck new without any issues despite the extremely tight confines.

the signal/puddle light can be replaced
should still be available at the dealership & several other places

if you have the non tow type mirrors, the image below should be like yours

Look at the inside bottom of the mirror, directly in the center, you should see a black plastic piece that can be moved with your finger, it is a release to remove the puddle light.
I forget if any screws have to be removed.

If you have any questions, about getting the mirror glass itself off, i will try to talk you through it
The Youtube videos that i watched, the person does it wrong & they break things.

Once the mirror glass is out, the screws that you see behind it, is what hold the whole mirror together

My 2009 mirror outer shell was hit with something, like lumber sticking out of the side of vehicle, or more likely, it was struck by a baseball bat

I would take some time & look for a broken mirror with a good outer shell, do you have auto dismantling yards in your area ??

Ya we have auto wrecking yards so that's one of the avenues I'm going to look at.
