I bought some pocket style fender flares from Tyger auto and am having second thoughts before even installing. Has anyone regretted after doing so?

I live in CT so salt is a little bit of a concern although I’m pretty good about washing salt off in the winter.

As far as paint marring goes I was planning to put PPF on the areas it would be touching.

Marred paint, rust, and fitment issues would all be automatic no goes for me. I fit them up loosely tonight and they look 90 percent good, some small gaps but I figure once they are actually bolted to the truck, combined with the gasket, those gaps would be nearly eliminated.

They would be going on a 17 sublime sport. Here’s some pics that got me inspired to go down this path, I go back and forth I guess if it’s the right look for the truck as well, although I’ve been eyeing them since I got the truck in 2020. IMG_4865.jpegIMG_4866.jpeg
And lastly a pic of the truck they’d be going on, little life between eibach springs/5100s, stock wheels on 35’sIMG_4754.jpeg

I got them on mine, and I love them BUT I got an aftermarket bumper on it that is a little wider then stock

As a result, the flares look like they belong, which is not the case with ANY of the trucks you posted

Now, keep in mind that with the flares on it, you will need rims with less backspacing to make it look complete

Wheel spacers would work as well though right? I wasn’t really planning on switching wheels, BUT if for whatever reason the spacers wouldn’t work, this decision becomes very easy lol

As long as they are not cheap chinesium parts, they should do just fine

I’ll be honest, I never really felt the stock sport bumper looked goofy with those flares, but now that you pointed it out and I see your truck in comparison, I can’t unsee it… and I plan to keep my stock bumper. I’m glad we are having this talk lol

I want to say I read somewhere that one of the fender flares manufacturers makes a small extension for the bumper...I'll do some looking around for it tomorrow

But none of the sets I've ever owned included them

To me, it just look unmatched

I’d pass on those at least for now. Can always add them later if you so choose. Big fender flares with stock wheels never looks good to me

I always thought the front flare coming down ll the way looked funny because of the headlight cutout. That doesn’t look all that bad however

Personally, I think those look the best

Like I mentioned, the ones you usually see look incomplete to me

But in the end, your truck AND your paying for it

On a different note, did you change out your Sport grille, or is it just the picture that makes it look different ?

i put a set on my old 2011 Ram. i ordered them from the dealer, but i got the plain ones...they didn't have those big fake rivet things on them. Gave it a clean look and i left them black.

I've never liked the big flares that stop at the bumper.
They look out of place and incomplete.

However, the ones above that diymirage posted look sharp, and complete!

This is all just my opinion though. You do you, and enjoy your truck ;)

I've always been partial to the stock/Laramie style flares, unless you need the aftermarket ones to cover larger wheels/tires.

I've always liked the smooth flares, as well. To me, it's a much cleaner/stylish look. Also, these type of flares fit up well with the chrome bumpers, which I have. I've had these saved for quite a while. I just don't want to spend the money to have them painted to match.

Exactly this^

The flares need to flow into the bumper.

It’s the stock sport grille, I just wrapped the chrome bars in a matte black
