I have read most the posts about this and it seems there's no real answers. My '14 1500 get this message a few minutes after driving and the temp gauge does not register. Also after I get the message, I get 4wheel drive not available but it just flashes for a second or 2 and goes away. The code I get are p1607, p2181 and a airbag code. Idid notice once when I left the truck idling for about 10 min and got back in the truck, the temp gauge was reading temp and the throttle service light was off. But once it started to drive it came back.on and the gauge returned to cold. I have checked coolant temp and it's where it's supposed to be, battery is good and I have no performance issues.
I have asked a couple shops but still no answers.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

When I forgot to plug in the temp gauge after doing my last water pump, the same light came on that you get when the throttle body throws a code. Two very different things so idk why you get the same light but you do.

Sensor could just be going bad. It's in the water pump, not sure if that means you have to remove the whole pump or if it can be done separate.

Replaced the temp sender today because it would spin at the connector so I figured it was broke. So still same issues.

Still sounds electrical. I would try to follow wires to make sure nothing has wore through, and check ground wires.

The other day I let the truck idle for like 10-15 min. When I got in the message was gone and the temp gauge was working. After driving it for about a min, message came back and the gauge went to cold.

Also if I jump the temp sensor plug shouldn't the gauge go to max?

How old is the battery, have you load tested the battery W/ toaster type tester, you'll be surprised what happens with low battery voltage.

Finally figured out my problem apparently before I bought the truck somebody had changed out the water pump and when they did that they swapped the air intake temperature connector with the water temperature center connector they're exactly the same and will interchange they had to reroute the wires to do this and I just happen to stumble upon it and now service total control is going away and my temp cage is working.
