I guess I will be the brave soul to post first as the information I have is directly from the manufacturer (this is cut and pasted from a prior thread):

OK, just got off the phone with TIM at QA1 - he stated the REAR shock that would best fit our trucks need is (drum roll please) :

TS905

He stated that we should run a shock extension PN# 9029-163 which would put he shock in the middle of the travel range (QA1 is super **** about the centering of the shock in the middle of throw apparently). I did not use the shock extensions and have not had any issues.

Hope this helps :favorites13:

If using the Inez 4/6 or 5/7 lowering kit shorter shocks need to be used. The rear QA1 shocks don't work properly.

Rear: KYB KG54308 or Pro Comp ES9000 Shocks 919500

Edit- QA1 does not make a strut for a 4x4.

lowered strut options I have found are;
Bilstiens 5100
Rancho RS9000

Any others i'm missing?

For a 2WD Front:
QA1 T*514: 9.63"-13.38" length - good for 2-4" front drop height w/ stock control arms. * represents option for none, single, dual, or drag racing valve adjustability.
Belltech Nitro Drop 2 9145 kit: fits 1-3" drop height

For a 4WD Front:
Any stock length strut will fit a Ground Force 2" drop spring with no issue.
Rancho RS9000XL RS999808: adjustable rebound rate, performs very well
Bilstein 5100 24-187367: can have additional grooves machined into the body for lowering the front more, advise no more than an additional 1.25" or the shock will bottom out; better ride quality than stock but not as good as the Rancho RS9000XL.

Rear, both 2WD and 4WD:
QA1 TS/TD901: 14.88"-23.63" length, good for 4-6" rear drop in either 2wd or 4wd
QA1 TS/TD905: 15"-23.63" length, good for 4-6" rear drop in either 2wd or 4wd
Belltech Nitro Drop 2 9145 kit: rear shocks fit 3-5" lowered 2wd and 3-6" lowered 4wd
Belltech Street Performance 9637 kit rear shocks: fit 2" dropped 2wd and 2-4" dropped 4wd

Awesome. Appreciate the reply. I refereed back to another thread form last year where you talked about this.

I ended up going with the Bilstien 5100 front strut. Personally I didn't feel the Rancho was worth the extra cost for my application.

As long as you don't have air ride these shocks are proven in the 4th gens which have not had any major suspension variation.

Excuse me , when you say 2/4 do you mean 2/4ths of the current height ? I’m trying to learn what that means whether it’s 2/5 or your 2/4.

2/4 = 2" front/ 4" back.

2/4 = 2" drop in the front and 4" drop in the rear. Meaning that when you replace your original springs with lowering springs it will lower the front from original height 2" lower and 4" in the rear.

Hello , what's the difference between the ;

Double adjustable shocks
Single adjustable shocks and the
Non-adjustable shocks ?

I'm trying to do a 2/4 drop and I'm trying to figure out the difference if they're worth buying in double adjustable or just get non-adjustable

Just removed my totally worn-out leaking QA1 rear shocks and replaced them with Rancho RS999301 XL single adjustable shocks. Totally happy with them, great alternative to the more expensive QA1's.
My 2/4 lowered truck had 19" between the upper and lower shock mounts, the 301's almost perfectly centered the shock travel with a compressed length of 14.688" and extended length of 23.00"
Top shock eyelet had to be slightly changed, with the existing PU bushing drilled-out to accept a 3/4"o.d. x 9/16" i.d. sleeve
I've had them on the truck for almost a week and am quite pleased, running on 7 out of 9 on the firmness adjustment.
Hopefully they'll be a little more tolerant to the Canadian cold winter temperatures than the QA1's were

Any of you running the Belltech Nitro Drop 2 9145 shocks? My truck has the mcgaughey 2/4 modified to 3/5.5. My factory rear shocks are too soft. One of my hobbies is building smokers so I haul steel quite often.

Can you post pics of your truck? I have the mcgaughys also and was thinking of going lower.

Anyone running the Viking Warrior double adjusting shocks?I have a 2018 Ram single cab R/T with a 2/4 belltech kit and just bought these shocks for all 4 corners. Any advice or tips to set the compression and rebound for front and rear.
