I have a 2004 3.7L 2WD dodge ram 1500, as of now i have 3inch lift spindles with 3inch coil spring spacer in the front and a 2inch rear block in the rear and a 3inch body lift soon to go on. i was wanting to get 37x16.5x12.5 tires and was wondering if they would even clear? and would that effect gas milage that much? if anyone thing that would be helpful to me before i spend more money on new tires and rims. thanks!!!!

If you go with that big of a tire I would recommend big gears for your motor size.

i dont think you will be able to clear those rims with out grinding down the calipers. How much total lift is that 6''s? if so i think you will rub since 2wd are a little lower that 4wd to begin with and some of the 4wd guys rub at full lock. Not to mention that think is gonna be a dog unless you do something to help it out ie gears(4.88's).

With my 2wd lift, 6" rcx lift, 2.5" coil spacer on top of that, and a 1" body lift my 37's are snug..... And i'm running 10" of lift...... IMHO you won't be able clear them even with a 3" body....
And for the tires by the size you described, they sound like Humvee tires, but you'll have to shave the caliper down for the rims to fit...

But on the major note, 37's with a 3.7l motor...... Your truly asking for trouble IMO

I personally haven't heard of anyone running 37's with a 3.7. I have heard 35's with 4.56 gears. (with a few supporting mods)

But it seems like height is going to be an issue.

37x12.5r16.5* mixed them up. But Sounds like I'd have my work cut out for me, I think my plan now is gonna look for a smaller 33-35 inch tire. Now with only a 33x12.5-35x12.5 I should be able to clear, and wouldn't have to worry about gears? Also when I look for rims is 4.50 backspace the way to go if I like my tires offset?

I'm leaning towards a 33" tire now. I don't wanna have to get into changing gears and all that. I know theyd clear and I have a 31" now so shouldn't be a huge difference. Anyone know of a nice "off roading" looking tire 33x11.5 or 12.5? I appricate all the help!

Dude, trust me. Go with 33's. I know that's a let down, but there aren't any mods out there for us.

Your truck could use some rims. Buy mine.
