So I'm heading out on a 3 hour trip today. I took my tuner off last week because I had the truck in at the dealer. I forgot to install it until I had already left but I had the tuner in a backpack in the truck. So I pull over and start the whole process only to find out that when I put the original backup back on the truck it deleted my custom tunes!! I'm pretty pissed about it but unfortunately there's nothing I can do. Now I wait for the slow tuner to read the truck, write the back up, and install a lame canned tune. :(

Just thought I'd warn you guys in case others didn't know this! Sure wish I did before now!

Mine did the exact same thing when I carried mine to the dealer a couple months back. Yeah it definitely sucks.

So if you return to stock settings you lose the custom tunes/hemi fever?

Yes sir! I'll have to put the tune back on the tuner from my computer when I get home!

It's never been an issue for me,
but I keep my tunes on the "optional" SD Card.

I have several modified tunes and needed more space than the standard Trinity memory could hold.

Dammit, Maybe its a 2GB card, not 2MB...it's been 4 years and I can't recall now, :sleepy10:

BRB ....
Lol I was wondering where I'd be able to find a card that small! 2 GB sounds more likely! Haha

Everyone should keep multiple copies of their tunes and original back up file
in several locations, Tuner SD card, Computer and a thumb/flash drive.

I wondered the same thing! Went from a 06 300 SRT8 where the tunes loaded in 10min to a 2014 Ram that took 45min!

I asked Diablo about it at a trade show and they said something along the lines of they had to remove the chrysler 'bootloader' (or something) and install theirs on all 13&up chrysler products. It was the only way they could work around the barriers that the FIAT overlords are putting into all Chrysler vehicles.

So 30+ min load times on 13&up are apparently normal (when tuning from stock or returning to stock) just switching the tunes is less time consuming.

This is exactly why I dread taking my truck to the dealer for anything. I have to set aside at least an hour just to remove and reinstall the tune.

I leave my tuner in my truck at the dealership. Never seen a note about me having a tuner before. Not too concerned about it.
