I bought my truck about 3 years ago and I'm finding new things about it but one thing that is throwing me off is that when I bought it says that it is an ST but when I signed up on the mopar site and was looking at everything I found a part that it said RAM 1500 Express. I would like some help on this if anybody can and I would really appreciate it

Mine says express most everywhere, but when I looked up the "build sheet" on the Mopar/FCA website it says ST or something similar. Maybe they are just trying to confuse us. LOL Probably not a big deal I'm sure

I thought st was the old express designation or at least the same thing. But FCA confuses me anyway the way they operate. Most times it's kinda like dealing with Bank of America or At&t.And that is not a compliment.

The Express should have the Sport style front bumper/facia,and rear bumper with dual exhaust cut-outs,and 20" wheels, while a ST should have a steel usually unpainted front bumper, with the single exhaust and no bumper cut-outs in the rear bumper and 17" wheels. At least that's my understanding of the differences between the 2 trim packages.

So the ST would actually be the Tradesman?

Techinically I think it is.I only have the Canadian literature on the trucks, but it should be the same for the southern trucks.Back when you could still get the literature in the dealers showrooms,i used to gather it up yearly, and by the booklets that's the differences between the 2 trim levels, they can both be optioned up pretty well identically interior wise, the only difference was in the exterior appearance packages

I have the 20 with the cut outs and have a spare tire that is a 17

I'd hazard a guess your truck is an Express then.Pretty well all the 1500's come with an oddball sized temporary 17" spare these days.I think the spare might even have "temporary" wrote on the tire if I remember right.Mine fell by the wayside a few years ago,i'm not even sure where it is anymore, but i'm pretty sure it had temporary right on the tire itself.

Convert, for now.
Engine
small
It was an ST, with Express package.
Now I think its just the Tradesman.

The Express had the sport front facia, monochromatic rear bumper, 20" wheels, 17" spare and dual exhaust cutouts in bumper. Can come with manual door windows, or powered.

By the looks of your avatar, you have an Express.

ST had a chrome bumper, front and rear. If your rear bumper is same as truck color, your Express.

Front and rear like this?

My 2019 Classic Express is an ST.Had to verify it for the insur. comp.I thought the ST was a cheaper line but mine looks like a sport blacked out, hood and all.Definitely cheaper looking than a sport but still nice.2019 chris' phone picts 140.jpg 2019 chris' phone picts 142.jpg
