Steering wheel switches

Have 2014 3500. Left steering wheel controls only work when wheel is turned about 30° or more. Same way with lights on controls left and right. What is going on?

Possibly a bad clockspring.

Have 2014 3500. Left steering wheel controls only work when wheel is turned about 30° or more. Same way with lights on controls left and right. What is going on? Is this a wiring problem, a true wheel position problem or a component problem? Would changing out the steering wheel be the best? I’m wanting to install an upgraded steering wheel with phone buttons because I want to install a new radio with phone link and NAV
