Ya tie rods should last a lot longer then that either they tightened them down way to much or they used cheap piece of crap. They are not overly expensive and easy to install but make sure wheels are straight when you do it and get it aligned right away.

I'm hoping to get it covered by the dealership since those tie rods didn't even have 10,000 miles yet... Something had to be done wrong by them.

I'm pretty thankful also it happened there and not in the hwy! lol. I'm gonna try to get it fixed ASAP so I can make the G2G... Hopefully I won't have to drop too much, or any cash on them.

Honestly this is very common...and it scary. Even on the aftermarket ones.

Tip for the future...this will help. Try not to turn your wheels unless you are in motion, that puts a lot of strain on the tierods.

Good think you wasn't in motion...its happened to some on the interstate and it wasn't pretty

repairs done at the dealership should be covered by a 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty

Update: The tie rods are getting replaced by the dealership free of charge under the recall... again lol. I should be getting the truck back tomorrow or Monday, so if I get it back tomorrow I'll be heading out to the G2G! Hopefully being able to break them in :naughty:

BTW... The truck had to be towed in.. the dealership shouldn't charge me for the towing service, right?

I've got to say, even though they took a while, I've got a good dealership. They replaced everything that needed replacing and towed my truck on their dime. So for anyone in the South Texas area, I highly recommend you try Love Dodge out of Alice or Corpus if you're having problems with your current dealership.

I was just looking at that... Maybe I'll just buy a butt load of inferno red paint and go crazy on my suspension :naughty:

Cody- This is embarrassing... but I don't know squat about suspension and couldn't tell if it was or wasn't

Reece- Yeah, the suspension on the truck was original from the factory. The previous owner (who bought it brand new) said the only time it saw the dealership was for an A/C problem. How can you tell it's the 08.5+ upgrade? Yep, it was aligned.

Looks good! Glad they gotcha fixed up. I wouldn't suggest red for the undercarriage though, might be touching that up way more than you'd like. Black would be a little easier.

The newer design has the two hubs directly bolted together. The old style the pitman arm(comes of the steering gear box) directly to the passenger side hub.
