Just to confirm these aftermarket tailgate caps/spoilers they are just kept on with 3M tape right? Kinda scary they might blow of or be removed..??

Pretty sure there are plastic tabs or clips as well as the tape based on a pic of the top of the tailgate, with no spoiler attached...

Found a pic of the spoiler. You can see the clips on the bottom for mounting. I think there are also screws on the leading edge as well...

Edit: Just realized you were asking about aftermarket spoilers (d'oh). You'll have to check with the seller of said spoilers to know for sure.

Op,

Not certain I follow you. I have a Crespo wing, manufactured by Street Concepts

And it's attached in the same format as the oem tailgate cap with the exception of the top snap in pieces.

Per the pics attached, you can see I upgraded from the plastic inserts to screws

And developed my own brackets to avoid a 3m tape only mounting process.

By far the hardest pieces to mount were the corners which are designed to be molded into the bed side.

Say what you will but I've seen well in excess of triple digit speed since mounting and no movement.

To steal it would require access to the bed, but that is locked down with a cover and the tailgate locks, so it's going to take someone really looking to create mischief with your truck to get one off.

My thoughts

That looks really sharp. Just not wanting to do screws and such. Nice job on yours though real nice

I didn't drill a single hole it the truck, all existing bolt holes. The two photos of lag bolts go into the bed into a factory hole under the plastic on bed sides.

What about the ones on the older Daytona trucks? Son has one, but the spoiler was gone when he bought it used, there is one one running around town, but I don't know who the fellow is.
They go on the box rails I think .
More of a wing I guess.
