I'm looking for a new muffler and tail pipe. All I can find for my 08 1500 has the resonator in it. I read that the tail for a 2500 will fit also and it doesnt have a resonator. Is this true?

Also I'm getting of this rust bucket Flowmaster, I like the sound but thats about it. I was looking at the magnaflow glasspack in 21 inch but dont know if that will be too loud. Sound clips on Youtube dont sound too bad but it is a video.

You haven't stated a question, yes many of us prefer Magnaflow over Flowmasters.

I am looking at the Gibson Stainless Steel line of cat back systems, especially the dual side exit.

I'm really beating around in my head if I want to go back to single, but it will be three inch. And go with a magnaflow glasspack or another muffler they have. Not many clips or reviews I can find on the glasspack. I like the sound of the Flowmaster put the performance is very poor.

I like to hear the exhaust but don't like to see them so maybe run the single 3" pipe dumped or hidden to a certain extent. I use a single muffler 30" long with a 3" in and dual 2-1/2" out and dump them just behind the roll pan. Early on when I still had a bumper I ran dual pipes out the back SRT style. I did get both performance and mileage improvements going from a Flowmaster to Magnaflow. It's all personal choice, go for it.

Will I notice a performance gain or loss going from a FM 40 series 2.25 dual out to a MF single 2.5 in 3 single out?

Isn't your inlet 3"?
I use all 3" from the ORF on back. Actually the headers are 3" collector, 3" cats and 3" ORY into a single 3" pipe to the muffler with dual 2-1/2 out to the roll pan. IMO any straight through muffler will out perform a Flowmaster.

No, everything is 2.5 to the muffler. Then I put 3.0 from there back.
