Hi All. I recently picked up a 1500 5.7 with factory Borla exhaust. Love the truck but it's too loud for me. I'm looking to swap this with a stock exhaust that's in very good condition and quiet. I have 6,300 miles on the truck now. I would be looking for a replacement with under 25k and have a shop handle the swap. I believe the setup runs about $1,300 new. Im open to offers. I live in CT. Thanks

If you were closer I'd straight up give you the muffler. Took mine off my old 2017 1500 at the 2 month mark, so it's basically brand new. I don't believe there is any difference between the 4th and 5th gen mufflers.

I could ship it to you on your dime, if you want.

That really doesn't make any sense at all. Guy is making you a very gracious and generous offer. You said the whole system new is $1,300, Rock Auto shows the Mopar muffler at just over $400, so you get a muffler for the cost of shipping, once in hand take it to the shop and swap them out. I would presume the rest of the system would remain the same, thought it may need at step down tube to put the OEM muffler in place. I really doubt you are going to find a better deal than that.

Mopar does have a factory Catback exhaust. No idea which pickups they use it on, but it is listed

Why couldn’t you just have the shop swap a 22 or 24” magnaflow for the borla? Cheapest easiest route for a quiet exhaust.

6.7 liter diesel
I put a Magnaflow 4 inch exhaust on my old Ford 7.3. It bolted together in the driveway. It made a difference and my record mpg with a one ton diesel was a measured 23.8 mpg. But the new system was loud. It was tiring on long trips. I got used to it and now have an amazingly quiet Ram diesel with a stock exhaust.
