Can anyone tell me the tallest and thinnest tire I can get for 2008 1500 Ram? It's a 4x4 with 17" stock rims and suspension. I want as much height as I can get without a lift kit and as narrow as possible for as much mpg as I can get.

Thanks

You probably won't get much, if any, more than stock tire size. Yes, you'll have a more narrow tire. But the height difference will make up for that.

IMO, it would look a bit silly, too. Just something to think about.

235/80R17! Narrow as all hell!
Course, they aren't real tall, like a 32" tire.

You may look into a Toyo Open Country 285/75R17 (yes 75).
They are 34" tall and not terribly wide (11")

In my jeeping days, I had a set of BFG All terrain 33x9.50x15's. So they might still make a think tire in your wheel size. I LOVE those tires.
