Hey all, I'm new to the forum and Rams in general. I have a D'max but try not to hold that against me. My GF has a '06 Ram Quad Cab 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi that is already leveled with spacers (I didn't see any obvious markings for a brand). It needs shocks really, REALLY bad and was thinking about getting Bilstein 5100s as I've liked them on other trucks. As I'm discovering you can get the 5100s that will provide the front lift to level the truck without the spacers.

Would I be best off getting the 5100s and ditching the spacers? What are the right part #s front (to level it while removing the spacers) and rear (stock height)?

Thanks,
TJ

Welcome aboard. Never lifted a truck so not sure about the spacers.

Thanks for the help! Just to confirm, that front shock will allow me to keep the truck leveled while eliminating the coil-spring spacers?

yep, but keep in mind, a bilstein level will put you at 2" of level. If you have a 2.5" spacer kit, your front end will be a little lower after installing the bilsteins and removing the spacer kit. With my bilstein level, i was still a 1/2" lower in the front.

Thanks, I'll try to see what her kit is. To my eye the truck actually sits a little higher in the front right now, but I need to measure it.

Awesome . I put the 5100s on my ram a year ago .i like them a lot I set to the 2.1 setting I believe and it ended up settling at about a 1.75 lift in front slightly higher in rear but made the front lift nicely . They claim the whole bilstein shocks are better than pucks better ride ?

It'll be hard for me to give a fair comparison of the spacers w/ stock shocks vs. no spacers and 5100s since the current shocks are totally shot. The truck needs an alignment and fresh tires too (which it'll get as soon as the shocks are on) and I'll be checking to see if it needs any front end bushings, balljoints or tie-rod ends. So really way too much will be changing to make it an apples to apples test.
