Ticking

Engine ticking first 3 min or so on startup. Sounds like #7or5. My theory is valve lifters have lost tension in their springs. How close is my theory?

Othe than that I get a P0456 I have to clear often.

Are you sure you don’t hear the PCV valve? It’s by your oil fill cap. Don’t know about the code your getting occasionally.
