I have found a set of tires that I want to purchase. They are 315/75 R16 (34.6/12.4 R16). My 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 has a 4in lift in front and 3in lift in the back. The tires on right now are 32's and I was wondering if the tires I want would work without rubbing? anyone know?

That's going to entire depend on the offset of your wheels. Are you talking about rubbing the body or the control arms?

both i guess. another problem is i have the stock rims which supposedly are 16"H by 7"W but the tires on it are 265/75 R16 which convert to 31.6"x10.43" and 10.43" is wider than 7" so does that prove i can go wider? the ones i found are 34.6"x12.4" (315/75 R16)

No, it doesn't prove anything. lol

You need an 8in wide wheel to run 12.50 wide tires safely and if you want proper wear out of them. Basically, what you need in a wheel is an 8in wide wheel that "sticks out" a little. I do not know the exact numbers you need, there are other, more knowledgeable people on the forum that can help you with that.

As posted you need a 16x8 rim to fit the 315/75r16 tires. Backspace should be 4.5 inches.

again if you want them to wear correctly if running a wide tire on a rim that is narrower that recommended you will cause the centers of the tire to wear faster than the outter.. also if im not mistaken you would need a different rim offset to keep from rubbing.. besides it always looks good with new tires AND rims... :)
