Got a 01 1500 with 5.9 in it. Motor blew so had a 98 motor and trans swapped in. Nothing was wrong with the 98 trans before the swap. I was having some shifting problems with it going high rpm before it would shift into second. So replaced the gov pressure sender an switch. Got the right amount of fluid put back in. Now still goes lil high before shift into 2nd, but goes to redline before shift to 3rd. And if you let off gas it will drop back down into 2nd. I have no clue what is up. Getting tired of having to dump cash into this truck. Any help would be great.

The cables are fine on it. Talked to a few places one said it was the torque converter and another said it was seals on the pump.

I might be mistaken, but I think the 98 sensors will have to be changed to 2000-2001 sensors to work with the PCM. Dapepper will know for sure. But one possibility is that during the move, a bunch of crap got knocked around and its time for a fluid and filter change.

You don't need the 98 PCM, you just need the sensors for the 01 PCM, its much cheaper to change the sensors than the PCM. Or you could get a tune.

The plug for the sensors are not the same on the early vs late. Did a new filter an fluid when put the sensors in. If it is a pcm thing then will have to change over pcm, wiring harness, injectors and the o2 sensors.

Then you are probably looking at a band adjustment. Thats the next most likely thing to cause that problem.
