Check out the transmission temp on my wifes 6.4 Challenger. We were out for an afternoon back road tour with the cruise set at 60 mph,and after 50 miles of easy driving this is all the 8HP70 transmission in her 1320 got to for temp.Sure makes me think the trucks running at 185+ on transmission temp,is strictly for emissions,and isn't done to maximize the longevity of the 8 speed transmission,especially when the 8 speed behind the 6.4's in the Heavy duty trucks also runs in this temp range to when they're unloaded.
