VisionX light cannon 4.5" review
Hello Ram Forum and "googlers." I have been wanting to do this for awhile. I like off road lighting, in particular LED lighting, and I want to share my impressions. All photos are taken with my iPhone 6.
Here is the box. When I got this in the mail. I was stoked. I opened it up... And pulled this out....
Here is a link to visionx website for the 4.5" lights.
4.5" Light Cannon - Vision X USA
I took a screen shot of the technical info.....
Oh my, my battery is dead.
Visionx claims per light:
1,000 feet of usable light. Which means, at least from what I read, "usable light" is being able to read a newspaper. So, VX claims, at 1,000 feet out, you can still read a newspaper with the available light.
Also, with two lights, VX claims 5,000 "raw lumens" at $449.00 for a pair. That is $449.00 before tax and shipping. I got in on a forum group buy by a vender called "alternative off road" and paid $415.00 (including tax and shipping) to land on my door step. Sweeeeet!!
Visionx offers 3 sizes for their light cannons.
(Found on a google image search)
Install was fairly easy. I have mounted KC lights before and Rigid industries lights also. I would say, the Rigid industries harness is much more simple. The Visionx light cannon harness had a bit more wires going on. It was similar to a KC harness. I wish it was a tad bit more user friendly like the Rigid Industries harness. But, I am no electrical engineer and I have never designed lights for NASA. Like VisionX. So, I trust their judgement and the light cannons have a HUGE following for a reason.
For install, follow this awesome video someone took the time to create. Helped me a ton. Thank you. Link below by Realtruck.com
