Weird "static-y buzz" and then 5.0 uconnect turned off

I have a 2016 2500 with the 5.0 uconnect and today I heard a weird noise like a static-y buzz, almost like feedback - never heard anything like it before, happened maybe a dozen times over a couple minutes and then my stereo turned off completely while driving. It was off for about 30 seconds and then came back on before I could find a place to pull over. And first it showed just the ram logo and no music, and then after about 10 15 seconds it started working like normal. About 30 minutes later I heard the same noise a couple times, then didn't hear it again for the remaining 15 minutes I was driving.

The noise definitely came from the speakers and the volume control had an affect on the volume of that noise.

I feel like this is going to be a witch hunt, but does anyone have any ideas?
