Plusses and minuses for both types. I found the in-channel ones were lower profile which was nice but they'd freeze the window closed which was a royal PITA especially when the snow got up under it and packed in. I've got a set of stick-ons now and while I wasn't a fan of them at the start because they were stick on, they have lasted at very high speeds, don't scape up the window edge, and I didn't have any window freezing issues (outside of the normal window freezing).

Thanks for the info, I guess the freezing is a given considering where we live. It gets really cold during the winter in Alberta. Lived there for 4 years in early 80's

I have always had stick-ons before, but went with in-channel this time for the cleaner appearance. No ice and snow concerns in this part of AZ. The only issue I have had is the express-up feature for the power windows will auto reverse every now and again due to the extra drag.

Can anyone post pics of both on our trucks? I can imagine the stick on ones are ugly. Is there a brand that is favored over another?

There are several threads on these. The consensus seemed to be that the AVS brand had slightly less problems coming loose and making the windows retract compared to the WeatherTech's. I have AVS stick ons on my Maxima and love them so I will give the in channel AVS' a try on my Ram.

Im running the avs in channels also. I love them and really think they look sharp. It took two weeks of playing around with them (and just a little bit of sanding) before my express up windows would work right again. If you have the patients to work with them id say its the way to go. They go for cheap on amazon too.

Once the in-channel ones are removed, do the window seals go back to sealing well? Always been curious about this in case a few years down the road I decided I no longer want them.

Really good to hear. Sounds like you live in a similar climate. Is your truck in a garage when parked? Some say it freezes the windows in cold temps...

I have in channel weathertech vents on my 2014. Never had a problem with them getting frozen or snow up between them and the window. Always have worked great.

Good to hear, what did they cast you? Are they more expensive or less then the AVS?

I cant remember what the cost was off the top of my head but they were pretty much in line with everything else out there.

My truck is parked in my driveway so its outside 100%. Only time i had issues is with ice, but i expect that.

I just ordered the weathertechs for $100... solely due to them being US made... Hope I didn't make a mistake by the functionality not being there.....

I did WeatherTechs on mine right after I bought it in 2013. I've never had an issue with snow/ice freezing it shut... and beyond the first day, I've never had an issue with the express-up feature.

Just make sure you install them right and they're flawless.

I went with WeatherTechs over AVS solely due to slightly higher online reviews... but I'm sure they'd both be great!

Been doing some pricing, In Canada the Weathertechs go for $140.00 and the AVS go for $89.99. Are the weathertechs $50.00 better then the AVS visors?
