CAIR stands for Customer Assistance Inquiry Record. Opening a CAIR may help you get some real assistance from your current dealership. Most of the CAIR's are opened when a dealership cannot adequately help a customer like when a customer has multiple repeat repairs.

Find an independent mechanic that knows what they’re doing. If under warranty,then find a new dealer. It’s apparent your current dealer service dept. sucks .stop going to them and maybe your truck can be properly repaired.

Why are you eating the tow bills for every tow? That is BS, its warranty work plan and simple. your dealer can’t fix the problem and they are just putting bandaids on it to keep you going out the door and want you to eat the tow bill.

find a new dealer and don’t let the current dealer touch that truck again. I have gotten my truck towed 1 hr for warranty work when **** failed and I didn’t pay a tow bill

Dealer and I would be having an unpleasant serious discussion. A truck that new fully under warranty......a loaner would be involved until my truck was fixed .....FOR FREE.

UPDATE - so truck got an update to the bcm to fix the P24C7 code last friday. drove truck once to jobsite. check eng. light on again. this time its code P202B. going back to dealer tomorrow.

hard to make a living in a truck when its unable to drive a few thousand miles without something going wrong.

That is where I’d be trading it in. I don’t blame you for being pissed can’t believe you got stuck with the tow bill and no loaner. That’s just plain wrong with how much these trucks cost. This is all government meddling in auto industry. it’s cost them, which costs us untold amounts of money. Unfortunately I hear so much about this emissions stuff making diesels so unreliable. I have 2 buddy’s with duramaxs both have had their truck in multiple times for emissions issues that crippled their truck. I would have loved a diesel but went for the gasser because of mainly cost but also that emissions crap. Guys do delete them here in NH but isn’t legal and if the guy who deleted isn’t around to inspect it someday you’re SOL.

On the 3rd repair for the same issue I’d have weighed the cost between lemon law return vs what I could trade it for on another brand. By law they can charge you for the mileage used on a lemon vehicle.

I actually did this on a Ford once and decided to trade it for another brand, because I prefer to drive something different after a bad experience. Lemons leave a bad taste.

its very close to being paid for. that is the only reason im hesitant and asking the trade question... as for other brands, chevy is the only one i would consider. i had powerjoke in the 90s and it was beyond awful. in colorado, in a 100 mile search radius, there are only 4 chevrolets with an 8 foot bed. ( im a carpenter ). i do think the new chevys look like the designer was on an acid trip when they came up with their current design. not a fan at all. but as they say, most trucks look similar from behind the wheel. thanks for the input. cheers !

As far as the Tow bills go, i have never counted on the dealership.
I have had the AAA Membership since 2003
I have the Premier Card, because it includes coverage for my Harley Trike & longer distance tows
