I was under the truck and noticed some oil on the front shock, so I need/want new ones. Truck has 60k so due anyways.
What are you guys using? I'm going to be installing the IHC 4/6 drop kit over the winter and might as well replace shocks at that time.
Their kit is supposed to be able to use OEM shocks, but I want to upgrade.
Thanks.

Viking double adjustable. Talk to Matt at Moe's. Be prepared for the price

Yeah, not doing those!
I know Bilstein used to be good, I see a lot of Rancho's for about the same price.
I going to call IHC to see what they recommend.

IHC says it doesn't matter. OEM are fine. I'm going with Bilsteins.

I went with 4600's. The 5100's are meant for up to 2" lifted trucks.
Don't know how they ride, truck will be indoors until spring!
Front shocks were junk when I removed them, so they were needed anyways. IHC kit came with rear lowering shocks.

The 5100s are listen by bilstein as a direct fit replacement for the 2 or 4 wheel drive. They do include comments about being available for up to a 2 inch lift, however they will fit stock height and are the same size as the 4600. Therefore they could be used as a stock replacement. Have used the 5100 at stock height on my 2011 1500 crew cab sport.

The 4600s are lower cost vs the 5100s.

Other consideration if you want to modify bilsteins are the 5125s which i have run on my truck, entirely different valving and will require you to change out the eyelet insert, i went poly, the metal tube through the insert, needed a larger diameter and use an alternative t bar for the front lower mount. I got mine from qa1. These bilstein shocks in most catalogs are listed as universal.

They are listed as well for lifted trucks but fit exactly like 4600s or 5100s.

I've had both 4600s and 5125s on my lowered RT with the Inez kit in the front. The 5125s are firmer than the 4600s and don't produce as much body roll in corners.

4600s are a popular choice, i agree, they just dont appear to be the only bilstein choice based on my research and experience.
