New tire time is coming so I'm researching now on what I want next.

1st set where Nitto Terra Grappler G2 35x12.5r20
Long tread life but for whatever reason didn't have much grip. I may give a 37" version a chance though. Both 35's and 37's are claimed 70lb tires.

Second set are Nitto Ridge Grapplers. 37x12.5r20
Love these tires!! Lots of grip, traction etc. They are freaking heavy at 80-82lbs each. Would purchase again.

Option 3 go to a 38x13.5r20 and get another 1/2 of clearance? Tires weigh the same at 80-82.
Will probably need to body lift to clear without chopping near the cab. Front bumper is trimmed so no issue there.

I'm not looking for a picture gallery just experiences of those who have owned these tire sizes and what it took to fit on your truck.

I’m actually debating on dropping from my 305/70r18 (35x12) to a 295/70r18 (34x12) for economy reasons and then possibly buying a second set of wheels for off-roading and keep my 305/70r18 on those. Or a set of 17s with a 35/12.5 on them.

Have always enjoyed seeing pics of your Ram. Sits just right.

From your question sounds like you were happy with the 37’s. I’d stick with them.

One thing I’ll be considering when I get to where you is…. What’s the availability of that size tire if I’m out on the road away from my tire shop?

If I have to purchase a new tire or two, is it a relatively common size? If not, I could be sitting around for a long time.

Just a thought :waytogo:

The Nitto Ridge grapplers are available in 37x12.5 all day. The tires are so robust I don't run a spare. I've had them pick up all kinds of things on the freeways but never once did they lose pressure.

If they would make them 10lbs lighter I probably wouldn't think twice and purchase another set already. They are almost 3 years old with 50,000 miles on them.

The heavy duty robust part of the tire is the reason they weigh so much. If they made them lighter, they wouldnt be so heavy duty.

Nice looking pickup!

Still looks like there’s lots of meat on the tires.

My mistake I thought you just wanted to see the tread pattern. Just got back from the White Mountain Apache reservation. 50,000+ miles and these tires have never left me nervous with the possibility of getting stuck.
