Winter tire / wheel question

I know I'm way early on this one, but I'd rather be a few steps ahead instead of playing catch up.

I'm looking at getting a set of winter rims for my '16 which has the pressure sensors installed in the factory rims. If I get no sensors in the winter rims, how many bells, whistles, and nuclear warning sounds will I get when I hop into the truck?

Also aside from installing sensors in the winter rims is there another work around to trick the truck thinking that there is some?

The only thing you'll see is the TPM warning light constantly on. It shouldn't chime at all.

As far as I know, there is no way to disable it. May be possible if you send out the module that monitors the sensors (RFH if I remember correctly). I dealt with a customer last year who said he had the sensors disabled with no side effects. But his truck was a 3rd Gen TIPM based.

Honestly, if you can deal with the cluster light / EVIC message all winter, then go with it.

I'm in the same boat. If you decide to add pressure sensors to your winter tires, make sure you verify that you select the correct sensors! If the rims are brand new for a 2016 with 2016 sensors then you won't have a problem. But if your rims are older ( as are mine 2011) then the sensors must be upgraded.
