Well, I decided to get into the season this year with my first truck and put on some lights/garland. I think it looks good and is not overkill. I’ve already gotten a few compliments. Let me know what you think!

I think it looks great! I tape the lights around the top of my bed rail, thinking about doing some other stuff this year too

Just be mindful of grumpy cops. There's a lot of blue and red in the wreath, and legally, you cannot have any blue or red forward facing lights.

They mostly use it to pull over the people driving around with blue headlights, but yes, there is a law. Only white and amber lights are allowed for forward facing lights, unless it is an emergency vehicle. I believe that is actually a federal mandate, and states have it written into their traffic code if I'm not mistaken.

A cop would probably have to be in a foul mood, or just generally not a nice person, to actually pull you over for it, but legally, they could.

I wondered about the colored lights too but the Ram's head in the center of the wreath is a nice touch. I can't imagine any of the cops around here giving anyone a hard time about it but white lights on the wreath would look good too.

i can't get it to preview and i don't have a photo bucket account
i run my lights off the 120 plug in the dash and just tuck the lights around the back window and they stay in just perfect. they are on the inside of the truck. they don't sequence or flash so they are ambient lighting and are fully legal
