Changing my oil, have oil drained, I take off the cap in engine compartment so it shoots out the oil faster and I notice on the cap and inside where the cap sits is this yellow gunk, what is this? I stopped everything and haven't finished job because I'm worried. I will get a pic up.

Condensation. Pretty typical for 4.7s that don't see much action on the highway.

nasty ****.

Pull the baffle out, clean it all out. Then treat the oil with seafoam and you're gonna have to change it again more than likely.

Pull up on the tab in the middle
And no, not a cap. It's purely the design of the 4.7, keep it from properly circulating the oil to mix the water together.
You might also check your PCV valve and make sure it's not obstructed

You add it to the oil? If so how much of it?

at 28 bucks a quart, not very much!...seriously, add a few ounces right now......then again when the oil change is due......by the next oil change it will be gone.
