With the success of the other high performance Rams, why don't they build this? I would trade my R/T in is a second of I could replace it with a SCSB SRT-8 or Hellcat Ram

Ram and Dodge/Chrysler need to pull their heads out or is it cause there is a company separation between the RAM and Dodge/Chrysler Corp??

Meh,, It would be a niche' truck,,,

If one is ever brought to market, there will be no comparison between the amount of Hellcat Chargers sold vs any form of a Hellcat Ram,,,

Just like the SRT 'Viper-powered' trucks,,, They sold some, but realistically,,, probably not any more of them sold than the old 'Prowler',,,,

I can see myself stuffing a hellcat engine in mine someday if i keep it,which most likely will not happen but anythings possible.
This would be awesome on a lowered awd truck.

They dont even make the 1500 with a 392 in the R/T.. why the hell would they put a hellcat motor in one? The day they make a "real" R/T or SRT Ram with a 392, and put as much thought into it as they did with the old SRT10 then dont hold your breath..

Plus the Hellcat Motors cant be pumped out fast enough for two rare cars, why would they add another vehicle to the line up?

I hate everyone's mentality of put that motor in everything because racecar.. this truck needs a proper performance hit, and adding that motor is light years away from even the starting point..

Bottom line, RAM is trying to catch up with Ford on sales, they are not in the market to make a show stopper model right now. RAM has made a huge leap in the past 5 years and they are running with it. I'm surprised the Rebel came out, but I dont think it will be around for long. If they do make a new truck it will be to compete with the Raptor, and that will be a very expensive R&D process

Agree.

It looks cool...but Im sure at the price it will cost I wouldn't want to use it for what it's actual intended use would be for......A TRUCK lol.

Go buy a damm challenger or charger lol

I plan too.... just don't think it will be a hellcat charger.. Think thats a weee bit too much power for the GF.... even the SRT maybe too..

I still would love to stuff a hellcat motor in my little R/T. that way I can do 0-60 in 3.2 second with a load of plywood in the back from the hardware store :roflsquared:

The 6.4L I think is feasible. Essentially it would be a Scat Pack Ram. You could use the Hellcat transmission, as the current 8-speed will work for a lighter car but I don't think will work in a truck. Other than that it's just the motor, driveshaft, and brakes. I'd buy that truck.

Buddy of mine and me have always said they put the 6.4 in a 1500 and not the HD 6.4, we would trade our trucks in that day. At least make the engine an option even if it's not an SRT ram, although I would love a SRT 8 1500 crew cab 4x4.

Yep. If they ever released a 6.4L SRT-8 Ram I'd probably trade mine as soon as they figured out tuning.

As it sits though, my next truck will probably either be a turbo diesel or one of those 4,200lb F-150s and then stick a Whipple on it and make 600 to the wheels.

Don't we have the same trans (8HP70) as the Scat Pack Charger? It will hold the 392's power no problem.. I wish we could get the same trans tuning as the Scat Packs tho, you hear them things shift at WOT?? the 8HP70 has so much potential it's sad to see it in its grocery getter form in our trucks...

Hi All,

" Chrysler practically must reinvent their popular pickup from the ground up, just to be able to fit in that massive engine."

This sentence makes this article suspect. Just be clear there is no reason that these trucks could not handle massive hp and torque. They trucks designed to handle over 1400 lb of load. There is no space shortage under the hood either. The biggest issue would be proper software development for the hellcat motor. and that should be a simple issue of modding the programs they already have for the Jeep.
If it happens KEWL! But if not it isn't because they had to "re-engineer" the truck. It would far more likely be due to CAFE ratings.
JMHO YMMV, have a great day,
