Actually the stock projector just like all halogen projectors do not have a solenoid actibated HiBeam function. There is a separate bulb to the center of the truck right next to the projector which is for high beams I believe they are 9005. All halogen projectors are single filament non solenoid. Bixenon HID are solenoid activated for high beam.

Actually you're mistaken,

The Stock Ram 13+ OEM Projector lamp does in fact have a solenoid activated
cut off shield.

The connection shown here

This is my previous set of OEM lamps I installed over a month ago
(now running TYC's with FX-R retro fit)

Low Beam Mode (with 35w/5000k HID drop-in kit) stock halogen hi bulbs and fogs

Hi Beam Mode removes cut off shield on projector and turns on halogen high bulb

The HID in the projector is so overpowering you could toss the halogen high beam and never miss it,
if it wasn't for an annoying bulb out warning.

The reason its still included is because it functions as the flash-to-pass
(pulling the lever towards the driver) and functions even when no other lights are turned on.

Moving the selector lever fully forward (when your lows are on) towards the dash engages
the high beam mode that drops the cut-off shield and fires the high bulb.

The reason you should never put an HID bulb in the high bulb socket is HID's need time
for the ballasts/bulbs to warm up and are not suited for being flashed off/on constantly.

Dropping the shield in the projector never effects the HID's power level,
it only changes how much of the light is exposed to the lens ;)

are your headlights smoked?

Jeremy baked them open, painted the chrome shrouds gloss black
tinted the LED signal lens and side reflectors with Candy Black paint,
The outer lens is totally clear.

full build thread here: http://www.ramforum.com/f96/blackout_edition_13_projector_upgrade-55597/

My 10' Ram came originally with Quad lamps and the computer still runs in quad mode
so my LED's are only half as bright as the new Rams that came stock with projectors.

Your Ram runs amber LED's at full flash brightness for daytime running lamps
...Like this:

My halogen high bulb still operates as my DRLS at half power, just like my quads did :(
(no easy way to fix that, its computer controlled)

So on my new set of FX-R'd heads I had Jeremy add LED Amber Demon Eyes to the projector
and tied them into my park lamp LED's. They are wired to turn off when the projector comes on.

So it looks like this now when I run my DRLS with park lights on

I use to run tinted GTS covers front and rear, until JJ helped me see the light
( I had to rely on my fogs to see where I was going)

I'm going to have to start paying mike......LOL

Best way to get me? Text me - 314-669-HIDS (4437)

As for shipping to Canada - its one of those weird things.........

One box of HIDs comes in under 4 pounds, and I can ship via USPS First Class. Runs me right around $25. 2 kits come in around 6-7 pounds and has to go Priority......which runs me 45-55 bucks.....(stupid shipping!)

The package stuff Mikes referring to are when we did up his lights, fogs, other parts - the site isn't "smart" enough to realize that YES.....its going into 1 box.....the weight is more, but not substantially more. Like headlights.....they run me 95-110 to get across the border. I charge $85 (whoops........) - if I pack in a set of fogs, etc, I don't charge for it - when the order is done through me vs the site. But.....well.....hate to say, 2 kits - it does run right around $50 up there guys.

Drives me nuts......to the point that I'd rather use FedEx.....but I've heard their broker fees are higher for you guys, and........shipping costs more......

Its like a no win situation on keeping costs down when going across a border there....

This may differ slightly from my 10' to your 14' Sport,

But after mounting the ballast bracket to the ballast
I laid on my back stuck my head under the front bumper looking forward
toward the backside of the front bumper for a hole to thread the supplied bolt/nut through.

Low and behold each side had a pair of threaded studs stacked vertically
...like this : and about 4" to 5" apart. I put the ballast bracket (and ballast)
onto the lowest one and tried threading the supplied nut onto it hoping for a thread match...it was perfect.

finger snugged it up, snugged up the rest of the wiring with zip ties,
then put an 8mm socket on the nut to torque it down solid.

Sorry, hard to get a good pic, but this was the end result (passenger side)
The fog light is just to the right of the ballast...
