They give great light off to the side, more of a flood pattern

I like that muffler clamp idea! I've got a set of those lights I've been debating how to mount. What size clamp did you use?

I think I got all y'all beat for the best cheap mods...

Cost? Less than $3 apiece at the local Fred Meyer store:

Ha, I got a free one...

Just picked up my 2018 1500 and love this forum. This is my first post on this site, but my third RAM in a row. Here is one that may not be not a true mod to the purists, but one I really like for function...

I am in -&- out of my truck a lot and hated leaving fingerprints on the black paint of the door edge every time I closed the door on the way out. It felt awkward grabbing anywhere else...

I really just needed a small finger hold to shut the door on exit. So I took a small black rectangle of plastic inside and stuck it to the inside door edge with two sided tape.

Now I have a place to flick the door shut without leaving fingerprints on the outside door!

Also blacked out the ring around the cheap radio and the lever for the middle console – good bye ghost reflections at night!

Both of these are genius. Definitely going to have to copy these! Nice work!

I dont have any pics before it went on. The piece I used was about 3/8 thick x 2" x 1".

Any flat rectangle would work. I actually used an old door hinge wrapped in black duct tape for the tester and it worked perfect.

Great job! I mounted mine the same way. They work great. It's nice, cause I can even rotate them to move the light straight back, or more to the outside for my liking. I left them just loose enough to be able to move them if needed, but they don't go anywhere once I have them aimed.

Mine have lights on each side of each pod so light goes out both sides as well as straight back. I can see tons of light now in my side mirrors.

My wife picked up this hammock from Amazon for about $50. It's well worth it.

Actually that gorilla ladders platform in the background is very useful. It was $75 at home depot. It works very well for getting those higher places on the truck. For you short, old or large (375lb limit) folks it makes getting into the bed much easier. Its 20" high and folds flat. It's also a pretty good seat, when cleaning the lower portions of the truck. I didn't buy it for these reasons. I actually bought it for home remodel earlier this year.

Hmm. I may just have to find one and devise a way to mount it easily accessible in the bed....

I think it could be mounted to the tailgate, if someone could fab up a latch for it. Its 14"×47" and about 3 or 4" thick. Its aluminum and fiberglass, so it's pretty light too.

what about something like the snap style latches that are common on airboxes?

I got the angled usb to tap into usb plug in center Console. I didn't want to alter any oem wiring. Then made small hole in the RAM plastic insert under proclip mount and small notch in the mount to not pinch the cable.. it will be hidden if Iever put the little rubber piece back on to cover screw holes. Lots of space to snake it around radio.

^^this....I want to move all the plugs from the console up to the little cubby hole next to the radio..the one that currently is a gum holder...much more convenient for aux. hook up, phone charging etc..so i don't have to open the console each time to connect
