Anyone running a set of train horns? I’m looking at purchasing a set but don’t know what sets are good quality and lower on price. I’m not dishing out $800-$1500 for a set. Or has anyone made their own?

If you go pneumatic, make sure the air intake for the compressor is in a dry area. Years ago i had a local 4x4 shop install mine and i was constantly draining water from the tank till i eventually burnt up the pump motor. Got the shop to buy a new pump and had them move the intake and never had an issue again

i think they should be illegal everywhere. Danger and could cause wrecks or possibly medical issues for the elderly. Those things are loud and i'm sure i would jerk my wheel in reaction to one going off next to me

Well I pulled the trigger on a Vikings 3 Trumpet set. 5 Gallon tank. Will see how good she blasts once it arrives and installed. I reside in isolation with a daily train in the morning/afternoon/evening so the Horns isn’t scaring or causing issues with anyone!
The real reason is for the Toronto 400 highways when I travel back home. Drivers don’t know how to pay attention when driving. With the lifted truck and these horns, it should be pretty clear to watch where you are going. Can’t wait to install!

I have had train horns for 4 years and they are a necessity here in Florida with all these ****** drivers. I initially bought a vixen system off ebay (hookedontronics) and have upgraded every part over time. The vixen system with 3 gallon aluminum tank is about $350, and it is a good value or the price. Once you have them you can't live without them. I live on the west coast Tampa bay area), when I go into Miami there are so many illegal drivers from 3rd world countries who give zero ***** about cutting you off..... It's incredible how a nice loud train horn will wake them up.

The problem with that sort of setup up here in NY is that anything installed under the truck like that would be corroded into either a solid lump or into dust after one winter road salt season. :(

Yep you are absolutely correct, apparently we are "salt rich" up here and use it constantly. They even salted last week for the snowstorm that mostly missed us (nothing stuck to the roads), at least the tornados that also missed us cleaned most of that off the roads with some good storms a few days ago. Don't want to jinx us but I think we are officially out of the 40 degress and below weather for the summer.

I've wanted to put an exhaust cutout on my trucks for years but I know it won't last very long before things are going to need to be replaced, so I've never done it. Have 2 on my classic car and they hold up for about 8-10 years before having issues, but that car is stored inside all the time when it isn't being driven.

Is it one of the options on our trucks? It should come as a kit with truck balls, 9 sq ft mudflaps and "Murica" sticker.

... along with 42 inch lift kits, 78 inch tires, heat seeking missiles and autonomous Killer Drones
that can follow the offending, inattentive driver, far away from the scene of the incident,
slaughter them near their own home and return to your truck for another redeployment.

Train Horns do nothing other than let someone know they pissed you off.
After the fact.
Like the really give a rat ****.
I kinda enjoy it, myself,

Like to spread Christmas Cheer, each and every day of the Year.
Honking let's me know I have done that days good works.
