Yes very easy to install the light bar ...but use a 5 pin trailer connector

https://www.amazon.com/CURT-56584-Custom-Wiring-Harness/dp/B007EA6WQU

Then use a another harness and just cut off the connector and connect it to the white wire for the reverse light ...

Don't get me wrong, the Alpharex lights are good ... @the_goodguy07 has the LUXX series and they are really nice, but for me and others they kept giving us the light error codes and no matter what I did I couldn't fix it ... the only thing I didn't try was using resistors which is something I really don't want on my truck, just personal preference ...

If you get Alpharex lights get the Luxx series, those are supposed to have the least problems when it comes to light out errors .... order them directly from Alpharex too not from anyone else and ask them to send you the resistors regardless when you order them ....they send them to you for free ..

Ok so ive purchased the OPT 7 bar and the Curt 56584 harness. Now what's my next step to get the reverse wired without tapping into the tail light? apologies, i'm easily confused :)

Ok so you are going to do the following

From a 4 pin harnes you are going to cut out just the white wire section to make it look like the 2nd picture

Then you are going to connect that section you cut off to the white wire on your opt7 light bar ... cut the ends to give the same length as the 4 pin piece on the opt7 light bar

It will then connect all together to the 5 pin Curt harness

It will then look like the following

On the left side is the opt 7 end with the white end spliced on ... on the right side is the cury harness

2nd picture is how it connects

3rd picture is how it looks connected

I have the Alpharex 09-18 Ram Truck PRO-Series (5th Gen 2500 Style) Projector Headlights installed on my 2019 Classic and have NO issues whatsoever. I did have the "Parking Lamp" out message (initially) and when I contacted Alpharex through FB Messenger, they promptly shipped me one pair of load resisters for free. I connected them using tips from forum member Hukweem and now no errors and everything works like stock. I do NOT have AlfaOBD. I installed H7 LED bulbs in the bi-halogen housing and the output is great for both low and high beam.

The big problem is they are only compliant not approved
The Morimoto XB are approved and post documentation for same other than they cost more
I am thinking that is the way I will go

I won't buy morimoto either .... worst headlights ever .... at least alpharex headlights last if they don't give you errors ... morimotos still get lens burns and melt plus get condensation more than other cheap lights out there ....

I read they extended the hood over the lens so it did not melt the lens if you parked in the sun
The moisture I will check up on as I have not read about it as a problem
If you can give me a link it would be appreciated
Thanks Bruce

Nice! That's the first I have heard about the hood being extended ... with the moisture that is what I personally saw on someone's truck but it was over a year ago ...and some videos on YouTube about .... will look for them

I hope this works
It shows the extended hooding to stop the sun magnifying through the lens and melting the light
