OK, so after a week of owning a 5th gen Quad cab (after a 4th gen Quad cab) a couple of nit-picky things. The lack of rear underseat storage is something I actually didn't notice, but something I miss. Also, the upper front console storage section is too small. Yes, I know theres more below, but not practical to use on the move. That's about it, really..

I agree. My only complaint was that any truck/car that costs over $50k should have LED headlights these days.
That's reasonable but keep in mind, if all the trucks came with LED headlights, then nobody'd be interested in the upper end trucks. Or you just special order a cheaper one with them.

Only thing I can think of with mine is that when I bought it I got the quad cab.
Kids were in car seats then. Now both my daughters are dang near 6' tall. They complain about the lack of space.
Shoulda planned ahead...lol. My last truck was a QC and I didn't necessarily hate it but I knew right away I wanted that bigger, full-size 4-door, and I don't even have kids, I just like my passengers to be comfortable whenever I have some.

First 5th gens were out in mid/late 2018. Your girls grew from car seats to 6' in three years? What do you feed them?!!

I don't like the 5th gens. I prefer a pickup that looks different then all the others.
My daughters are 14 and almost 16.
I'm 6'4". My ex is 5'11".
I don't plan too far ahead. More of a pull the big heavy TV onto myself then decide if it's a good idea.

The worthless spare, and not being able to turn the stereo off.
I feel ya on that one. Well, I still don’t understand why the lack of being able to turn the radio off is such an issue when you really can’t, I guess, because it’s not just a radio anymore but I agree on the spare. I would hope that dinky little spare is trustworthy enough to get you to a service station pulling a max weight trailer. But, search the junk yards and try to find you a regular ole steel wheel that’s 20x9 5 on 5.25 bolt pattern and check your local tire shop for a used 275/60/20 tire; or whatever your stock tires is and viola, problem solved.

Me personally, if I had known my truck came without a real spare, I would’ve had the dealer yank one off another truck and had em wrap it up in my loan before I left. They can order a complete spare to replace it or if they didn’t want to do that, they could just order me one and I’ll put it on myself when it comes in.

I don't have one because they derated the 6.4 instead of using the 485HP version in the srt vehicles. Otherwise I would have ordered one.

Ford F350 7.3 was ordered instead.

Probably because the hp/torque that the truck 392 makes is all it needs. It’s also a reliability/longevity thing why it doesn’t have what the SRT Charger/Challenger has.

All it needs? They're putting that 6.4 in the 3500 drw and saying it can tow 18,000+lbs. Ford says their 7.3 drw can do 19,000. Ford absolutely smokes the Ram on the Ike gauntlet with 16k in tow. 8+ minutes for the Ford vs 10+ for the 6.4 Ram. This isn't a small thing. Ram needs to up their game big time. I wanted to buy a Ram, but their game is low.

Let me put it simply. You drive up a hill in a Ford and it takes 8min. Then you do that same drive in a Ram and it takes over 10min.

That's huge.

If you knew all of this why was it a question? That's why I knew where this was headed!

First off, why are you so interested in making so much of a big deal about towing with a gas motor? Even with all that emissions crap, if you’re going to be pulling in excess of 17,000 pounds, you’re better off doing that with a diesel. Second, Ram doesn’t need to up their game because we’re only talking a thousand pound difference. Ram doesn’t care about being all big and bad like Phord is when it comes to towing with a gas truck. For those who don’t tow enough to justify the CTD but need more than what a 1500 is capable of, the 392 suits them just fine. Besides, when you’re not towing, the 392 will get better gas mileage if driven respectively. The Phord- about 12 at best. Not only that, Ram has the factory rear air ride so for that plus alone, I’ll take the 392 Ram any day.
