    Tire Valves

'18 3500HD DRW - Are the valves on the wheels high pressure valves? I had new tires, and I thought the inside duallys had metal valves. The installer told me that metal valves cannot be used on steel rims. Not sure if this is true. He said he replaced them with the same. Looking at valve...

Tires '18 3500 CC LB DRW Reommendation

Up until 2019 Wife and I have towed our 17k 5th wheel across and back the U.S. Last year at 32k replaced the front Nexens due to tread separation. Back were okay. Put Cooper's on the front and was satisfied. But without towing, and at 44k, the Coopers need replacing already. Always a good...

    Navigation system (uconnect?)

Do yourself a favor. Get a Garmin free lifetime maps and traffic. Better to have a dedicated unit just for that. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, will let you use voice commands as well as your phone. Had mine for many many years in my RV hauling my fifth wheel, never had a problem. In my 18, that you...

2020 Camping season.....over before it starts?

I would still get her ready. Might need before you need her. At least make sure everything is working.

    Drag Link Recall Error!

So, last month I took the '18 in for the recall. According to the invoice the jam nuts were re-torqued and welded. But they did not do an alignment before the weld. They said I needed new front tires. They wanted to sell me AmeriTracs, and if got them there, they would do the alignment...

Is deathwobble a problem on 4/5th gens

'18 Ram 3500 CC LB 4x4...Had mine in for drag link and actuator recall. Dealer said replaced actuator - but, my understanding it was just a piece of rubber to be replaced? Drag Link - they welded and painted. Also told me the OEM Nexan's had tread separation and needed to be replaced. They...

    Tires & Drag Link

They did not tell me which repair had to be made - replacement or weld. You believe 1 way, I believe another. Like I said, I'm concerned about having an alignment in the future, which I'm sure I should have done or checked first given my vibration/shaking complaints. That's all. I just feel...

    Tires & Drag Link

One additional thing on this - I'm 71. I've been driving for over 50 years - cars, trucks, trailers, etc. I have never had a repair done where I wasn't asked first - even warranty repairs.

    Tires & Drag Link

I understand what you're saying. I think they should have told me about the welding considering the alignment in the future. They didn't do an alignment first. I would have paid for that. I prefer to see a problem up close before repair. Its my truck and I think I should have been consulted...

    Tires & Drag Link

'18 CCLB - Got notice for the drag link. Took it to a dealer. They welded, without asking first. I didn't realize there was a recall until I saw it here and went to Ram site. I had violent shaking into the steering wheel. At first I thought just alignment, since this started out of the blue...

'18 Ram 3500 Long Bed Dually Tailgate

My TG with camera and power lock was stolen. I had left the truck unlocked. I was able to get a factory camera and harness, but so far can't find what I need for the power lock. The camera's harness, at the camera end, has a white 2 prong connector that isn't being used. I'm wondering if the...

    5th Wheel Tailgate

Installed Custom Flow VEL-39 5th wheel tailgate. The tailgate is installed, per gate mfg, metal on metal, without pivot hinge bushings. I don't feel that's right. I don't want to remove the bushings from the truck's tailgate. Went to the dealer and found there is only 1 bushing used, on the...

Rear view camera - '18 Ram 3500 Laramie

Switched tailgate to a 5th wheel tailgate and purchased Mopar camera and harness. On the camera end of the harness is 2 plugs. One (white) obviously goes into the camera. The other is a square black plug with 2 female connectors. The factory tailgate has powered lock. What is the black...
