    I'm sure we only hear complaints about the cam/lifter failures. Any engine can fail even when maintained better that the mfg suggest. In 1981 I bought a 79 chevy used with 4,300 miles on it. I changed the oil every 3500 miles and yet it ate a cam around 60k miles.
