No worries about the spam folder, I always go over that thoroughly several times a day (and still haven’t received the verification email). Believe me, I’m right there with you about the data breaches. I’m retired Army and between all of their breaches and the breaches of the VA’s systems...
In other words, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. The only personal information this forum has is my email address and what’s stated in my profile, which is very little.
And that is one of the reasons why I don’t use social media and Siri was never set up on my iPhone, which has very few apps and all have limited access (only the Smart 911, earthquake and tsunami warning apps have access to location data). As for “smart” appliances, including TVs, I don’t have...
You’re all welcome. I admit that it royally p*ssed me off that they went so far as to make a separate company just to take advantage of all of the data they mine from our vehicles and wanted to get the word out as to how to go about opting out. As for what the consequences of opting out might...
Stellantis has apparently started a new company, Mobilisights https://www.mobilisights.com/, specifically to process and sell all of the data they collect from our vehicles. The ability to request to opt out of the sale of collected data is found by clicking on the Privacy Policy link at the...
Thanks for the info on the Auto Sock traction device. We very seldom get sufficient snow out here in my neck of the woods to bother with chains but it’s alwas better to be prepared than stranded. It would be just my luck that if we got a tsunami warning, the roads would be icy. >_<
Nope. If I had that much money to burn on a vehicle, I’d buy a fully restored 1950’s Power Wagon or possibly one of the International Harvester or Willys trucks/wagons. Sadly, it’s been a couple of decades since I was physically capable of crawling under and around a vehicle to work on it. :-/
Well rats, now I can’t channel the little old lady from the ‘60’s commercials and say “Put a Dodge in your garage, honey!” when I suggest the person asking about my truck get one.
You might try contacting your state Attorney General’s office and ask who you can report the dealership to and see if there are charges that can be filed. And don’t forget to leave a detailed review of the dealer on Google and Yelp, sometimes the best that can be done in a situation like this...
The back pocket of my jeans or my purse the rare times I carry one, any calls I need to make or take, I just press the phone button on the steering wheel and texts wait until I’m parked. I prefer paper maps over GPS (always had very bad luck with those) and check my route before leaving home...
Thanks for this post, it makes me feel better to hear that I’m not the only one who has accidentally grabbed the shift dial instead of the radio dial, thankfully it was to mute the radio and I didn’t turn it. I don’t have the audio controls on my steering wheel (mine doesn’t have that option)...
Ooh, nifty! Thanks for this post, it’s something I’m going to look into. Though, if I ever manage to get a travel trailer, I’ll have to make sure to weigh everything stashed in it and add that to the hitch weight of the trailer.
The vinegar thing worked a charm back in the bad old days when people put tap water from the hose into the radiator. Vinegar is great for getting rid of lime scale and sundry deposits from hard water, just not the thing for modern radiators meant to use modern coolant formulations. The old...
