As far as the plug to the alternator is concerned try this. Find the male pins. With some small needle nose or hemostat pliers twist the pin about 15 degrees. Sometimes aftermarket pin sizes can be different sized or even worn.
I have done a couple. It’s not that big of a deal. Just get the procedure (not a YouTube video) and follow it. Don’t try to be smarter that the procedure. Don’t skip steps. Follow it and you will be fine.
Does anyone have a pic of their harmonic balancer installed without the bolt on a 5.7L? I am trying to see if the balancer and the crank are supposed to be flush. The bolt torqued down but I am 100% it is seated.
Go to rock auto. Monroes are $113 a piece for the entire assembly and work just fine. Even with the spring compressors, these are a little bit of a pain. If you choose to not remove the lower control arm, then ensure you have a long pry bar. It is tight getting it in and you will need to push it...
