    3:73 to 4:10 cost

Figured I'd chime in with my 2 cents. 18 Power Wagon on 35s. 19,500lbs loaded (4.10s Factory/5.38 regear) I could pull 6% grades in second gear (4.10s) around 55mph with factory 33s or whatever they were.. in second gear (4500 rpm) I regeared and now run 35"M/T muds and 5.38s. Same hills 3rd...

    66rfe to 8hp70 swap

Figured I would just throw my 2 cents in here. I just finished a 5.13 gear swap a few months ago in my 18. I can honestly say this is how it should have come and the 66rfe works freaking great. The biggest surprise was the engine braking and how well it worked towing now. Make sure you put...

    Swapping Trans

I'm pretty sure the only difference is the front pumps for diesel and gas. All the hard parts should be the same (maybe all of it). I would talk to a reputable builder and see what they say about the rpm your v10 will turn compared to a cummins. Other than that the valvebody, billet shafts...

Cummins front seal and Harmonic dampener R&R

So there may be other ways of doing this but I always just pulled the front cover off and knocked the crank seal in on a bench. The worst part is (besides all the grime) is taking the radiator fan/shroud off. If you have not done so, now is a good time to fix the front cover dowel pin (if you...

    Dreaded lifter failure

Has anyone looked seen how may updates the lifters have gone through since 2011? It's a fair amount. Did a cam swap on my 2012 and at 80k it started to show the slightest wear on one of the peaks of the lobes and the roller was starting to seize up. I used "updated" lifters were the 2018...

6 speed auto transmission for towing

This thread had become useless for anyone seeking information. You and your LOLs and emogees are better suited for your social media forums. You stated the 68rfe shared nothing with any of other RFE transmissions. I proved you wrong and was able to share some information (maybe someone learned...

6 speed auto transmission for towing

Yes, once again we are talking towing HD vehicles. Jeep, SRT etc are not considered HD vehicles FYI!!!!! Never once did I state the 65 is a good transmission . I own one and it has zero problems (Durango). The 8 speed has been on my radar for a while but I am not tossing this thing until it blows.

6 speed auto transmission for towing

Yes, I am on a different planet. I live in the real world and you can use your the evidence you find on the internet to argue with me......on the internet. I believe everything I see on facebook by the way! The RFE line of transmissions came out in the late 90s I believe and have been through...

6 speed auto transmission for towing

You forgot to mention that the RFE is still placed behind the Cummins...Wonder why they don't put the 8 speeds behind them?

    Built Valve Body Questions (RFE)

What is done to the valve body? The temps don't seem bad at all to me. Why did you change it in the first place?

    66 rfe swap?

Sorry, no info on the Aisin but I would call up Firepunk diesel since you are in Ohio. The 66 shares a lot of parts with the 68rfe that is behind the cummins. You can put stock back in these but they have inherent problems that the factory doesn't address. The biggest thing is the crossleakage...

    Used truck advice. Delete/tuning questions???

Just throwing my two cents out here if it matters. I own two cummins truck 95 and 06. Diesels are by far so much more expensive to repair. I have an 18 6.4 as well. The only way I could justify buying another cummins was if I was going to tow heavy on a regular basis. By far so many more things...

    Transmission problem - advice needed

Although I am not a fan of ATS I think they are correct for the most part. I don't think the housing is part of the torque capacity, most likely is the torque converter I am assuming (they are way bigger on the diesels).
