    Camping 2024

Lol! Depends on how you look at it!! :D For me, it's better to RV in the States. For you, I'm not too sure. You'd have to do the math with the American exchange rate. I would guess it's about a 30% discount. Even so, Canada is expensive, so the exchange may not offset it that well. I haven't...

    Camping 2024

Just looking at fuel right now…average in my area right now in eastern Ontario is between $5.65-6.04 per gallon. Using gas buddy, I can see northern NY is in a range of $3.40-3.60 per gallon. Now, I fudge high for this example, so even $3.60 at a 30% exchange is $4.68 per gallon in Canuck bucks...

    Camping 2024

As a Canadian, we head south to the US. We always found, even with the exchange rate, fuel averages about $20-40 cheaper per tank than in Canada. My average fill up in Canada is between $110 and $130 or more (26 gal/95 litre tank). I usually fill at 1/4 when towing. My most expensive fill last...

Highest towing capacity for the 5.7

I posted a real world example this past summer. Post in thread 'Towing help for someone brand new to trucks and towing.' https://www.ramforum.com/threads/towing-help-for-someone-brand-new-to-trucks-and-towing.202121/post-2824422 Hope it helps.

Towing help for someone brand new to trucks and towing.

Not sure if they’re open for public use here in Ontario. Never tried. Closest DOT scale for me is farther away than the CAT scale. Towing the rig there and back would be a wash in the amount of fuel to burn there and back compared to just going to the local CAT scale. Initial weigh here in...

Towing help for someone brand new to trucks and towing.

I have never seen a RAM truck with tow rating on a door jamb. Mine is 8200lbs per RAM’s charts. The only number I have near that 6900lbs is my GVWR which is 7100lbs.

I do…the sport models are pretty much the same with minor differences.

Agreed on both the mirror part and the camera. I have the Haloview RD10. The monitor straps to your rear view mirror making it a natural eye movement to see what is behind you. I don’t really use it for backing up though…I’m old school and use my mirrors and lean out my drivers side window to...

Lol! For what it’s worth, just remember you have 20 whatever feet following you….wider turns, and the trailer is slightly wider than the truck, so a little more space when going by parked cars, etc. As for backing up, I find backing up larger trailers easier than backing up smaller trailers...

You have pretty much the same truck as me…I have the 1500 SPORT with the 5.7HEMI and 3.21 gears with a payload of 1448lbs. I tow an Imagine 23LDE, 28 feet over all (don’t forget about that A frame at the hitch adding to length), with a GVWR of 6995lbs. I use a Husky CenterlineTS weight...

New Ram owner, can't believe how bad it is in the snow.

Probably trying to figure out why his crappy feet performed so badly after jogging with high heels.
