    2020 Ram 1500 transmission advice

I have a 2020 Ram 1500 with the V6 and 3.55 differential. I have roughly 42,000 miles on it. I've noticed an issue with the transmission that seems to progressively been getting worse, and I'm looking for some advice on how to approach it with the dealership. The issues I'm seeing seem to be...

Low speed running in too high of a gear?

Actually, I just looked up MDS. I don't believe the V6 has MDS.

Low speed running in too high of a gear?

Thanks for the info. What is MDS mode?

Low speed running in too high of a gear?

That makes sense...but, it's hard to "hammer down" in 25 MPH speed zones. The issue isn't terrible, but it's just annoying. You feel this slight "shudder" in the throttle.

Low speed running in too high of a gear?

I have a 2020 Ram 1500 with the V6 and 3.55 differential. The truck has about 22,000 miles on it and so far I love the truck. However, this Summer I started noticing something: When I'm driving at low speeds (lets say 25 to 30 MPH), the transmission seems to shift up to 6th gear. The result...

    2020 RAM 1500 3.6L Oil Capacity: 6 qts or 5 qts?

I didn't check it after I started it...that may be the answer. I'll check.

    2020 RAM 1500 3.6L Oil Capacity: 6 qts or 5 qts?

Yes, I did change the filter. It's strange...I had the engine warm, the truck was level, and only drained 5 quarts. I then added 5 quarts and the dipstick was full.

    2020 RAM 1500 V6 Impressions after driving 6,000 miles

As for towing, I pull a 3,000 LB Rpod travel trailer. It tows fine, but at the end of the day, it still feels like you are pulling a parachute. Even though it's a light trailer, you still feel the wind resistance. It pulls better than my Ridgeline did, but I can still feel it back there...

    2020 RAM 1500 3.6L Oil Capacity: 6 qts or 5 qts?

This weekend I did my first oil / filter change on my 2020 RAM 1500 with the 3.6L V6. Everything I read says that the crankcase has a 6 quart oil capacity. With a warm engine, I drained the oil until it was dripping out of the engine oil pan. I drained about 5 quarts. I then added 5 quarts...

    2020 RAM 1500 V6 Impressions after driving 6,000 miles

Several months ago I replaced my 2008 Honda Ridgeline with a 2020 RAM 1500 with the 3.6L V6 and 3.55 differential 4x4 (Big Horn Level 1). The truck only had 10,000 miles on it and was still under factory warranty. The truck was basically new and I was able to pick it up from a dealer for under...

    Defroster fan question

I just bought a 2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn and have a question about the defroster fan. I've noticed that once I'm about 10 to 15 minutes of run time, the sound of the defroster fan seems to change. It almost sounds like it isn't blowing as hard, but if I hold my hand over the vent it seems to be...

    OEM Brake Controller Question

Thanks for all the info. I made an appointment at the Ram dealership to have it programmed. Looks like it will be an $85 charge.

    OEM Brake Controller Question

Hi, I have a 2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn (Level 1). I have the 8" touch screen and the smaller display (3.5" I believe). I purchased an OEM brake controller and installed it this afternoon. I did purchase it used off of Facebook. It did have all the proper labels on it and I know it is a factory...

    2020 Ram 1500 V6 Shift Points

I just purchased a 2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn with the V6 and 3.55 gears in the differential. So far I've absolutely love the truck. It has plenty of power for my needs. One thing I've noticed that feel a bit irritating is the shift points. If I'm cruising down the interstate at 80 MPH, the...

Towing with a v6 Pentastar and 3.21 differential

From what I can tell, the RAM with the v6 is only available with the 8 speed transmission no matter which differential gears you choose.
