finally got mine done body work wise. I had it in the shop for a month to shave doors, roll pan, stake holes, and my third brake light. I have a 4/6 drop
Are those 20's? They fit pretty damn good with that drop. I'm still on factory rims and tires. Wanted to go with 22's but wasn't sure about the fit and ride quality.

Ive only driven it a couple miles since taking them out but it seemed to handle pretty much the same as it did with the overloads still in. Truck does ride a little rough but I never expected my truck to ride like a cadillac especially now that its lowered.

I put a baby c notch in the rear to help. But with the blocks and everything else it's just too much on that rear end

Yes that is a 2/4 drop. With the overloads removed it works out to be about a 2/5 drop which sits my truck nearly level right now. But my rear tires are also about 2" bigger than my front tires which makes a bit of a difference on how level it sits right now.

I'm still debating on pulling the front coils out and trimming a coil off them to get the front down about another 1"

What lowering kits did you use? I'm thinking the belltech 2" drop spindles for the front and 4" drop belltech spring hangers for the rear. Then if i want the rear lower i can remove the overloads. I have the ss/t wheels with 275/60r17 currently. Im considering a 285/60 in the rear. Also does the truck ride any different without the overloads? Its very rare that i tow or haul anything, but once in awhile i haul an atv (600 lbs), and occasionally tow a boat (roughly 3000lbs).

That is exactly what I used to lower mine. The spindles are definetly the way to go for lowering the front if you dont mind the extra cost of them.

As for the ride without the overloads I cant comment to much on that since I only drove the truck for about 1-2 weeks before it got parked for the winter. (Only about 300-400kms in that time to) My biggest worry was getting wheel hop without them on hard launches but I didn't really notice any on the few launches I tried.

If your towing or hauling your atv you may want to leave the overloads in or you might end up riding on the rear bump stops which will make for a reall rough ride haha. My axle is getting pretty close to the frame now and I had to cut my rear bump stops shorter already. Im conisdering getting a notch kit for the back just to give myself a little extra room.

Ok i'll go with the 2/4 drop first and then decide if i want to go lower. What are your tires sizes. I have a set that are 275/60r17 which are 30" tall and another set of wheels with 285/60r18 which are 31.5".

Sounds like a good plan. You can always try pulling out the overloads later if you want to go lower. Really all it takes is a bit of time to pull them out and doesn't cost anything to try.

My fronts are 255/45r20's (about 29" tall) and my current rears are 255/55/20's (measure about 31" tall)

For the beltech 4" drop hangers, are the rivets for the stock hangers drilled out and the new hangers bolted onto the frame? Have you had any problems with the hangers being bolted on if so? Also are they grade 8 bolts?

I actually got a killer deal on my spindles. Only paid $145 delivered to my door and they were still brand new!! Got them from a member on another forum that just wanted em gone.

As for the drop hangers. Yes you need to drill, torch or grind the rivets out. I torched the heads off then used an air chisel to seperate the old hanger from the frame since it was still stuck on pretty good. The new hangers just get bolted on. I've had no problems with them being bolted at all so far but it's only been in there for one summer. I just used the bolts that came with the kit but I believe they were grade 8's.

I swapped the hanger with the box still on the truck but I will say if you can take the box off the truck it would make things much easier!!
