It's better. I DO NOT recommend using red loctite since it's the permanant one. The blue loctite is what I recommend cause it can be broke loose if need be. Red can break bolts (iv done it) if you put to much on or leave it on to long.

You still liking the shocks outside the coil spring setup?

Yeah, I think it rides great. Plus using shocks that have eyelets for both ends open up a whole nother world of aftermarket shocks.

Is it okay to use loctite on wheel studs? For running spacers...

I use red, I might sound crazy for doing, but I've lost a wheel before so I feel justified. When you experience the sight of watching your wheel and tire take off through an intersection, while you're dragging a rotor on concrete, sparks flying everywhere, and all you can pray for is that tire finds a cement wall and not someone's windshield, you'll do everything short of weld them on there.

Wouldnt it be the same as regular front shocks?

Did you order the offroad pipe because it's a simple way to delete the cat. Otherwise there's no gain for you being as you have an 01
I have a converter shell with test pipe through it and lately, it has been rattleing and driving me nuts! Its welded in and i really dont want a hacked up exhaust so the jegs pipe it was!

Yes, regular shocks, stock oem shocks, but I'm talking aftermarket custom valved. I'm undecided about where I plan to take the truck right now. I want to swap the BDS long arm for the Dodge Off Road extreme bent long arm kit, and do the rear 4 link conversion from them, along with putting the truck on coilovers set around 7" of lift in the front and 5" in the back.

The problem right now is, I actually love the way it drives right now. It's smooth, stable, hell currently it drives better than it did when I bought it bone stock at 105k on it. I think I'd be 100% satisfied with some Fox 2.5's that I can have custom valved, and have the DSC adjuster so I can fine tune the ride. You can't do the piggybacks in the factory location, with the shock outside the coil I can make them work.

I honest to God hate wheel spacers, especially after I lost a wheel on one of my previous vehicles. The only reason I had them on my current truck was because with stock wheel offset and 35's I rubbed hard on the lower control arms. That's really the only purpose I see for using them. If you want to do it for looks, it's fine, but keep in mind larger tires are harder to tuck with no lift. I've seen trucks rub with stock height tires and no lift. If you do them, use loctite. Blue recommended if you plan on ever removing them, red if you're paranoid like myself.

Howd you get it to ride so stable?

I had a 11R24.5 tire come off a trailer. Was flat and as I went around a corner the tire came off the wheel. It hit a Cadillac in a dealership. Lucky it was going slow.

Had a 16/22.5 front tire come off at 60mph when the split rim came apart. Found tire.

Had a dual 11R24.5 come off a Peterbilt, with hub and drum and axle, at 50mph. Mechanic changed axle seal and forgot to lock the jam nut. Went so far into the bush and down a mountain side we never found it.

Had a 235/75R15 come off a trailer. Axle stub snapped.

Mom had a front tire come off her 68 Vette.

Long arm helped a TON. It drove alright with the 3" kit on it, but at 5" with the long arm I can hit the interstate at 80 with 1 finger, on the straight's it tracks with no hands on the wheel.

Of course I've had a ton of "maintenance" done to it over the past 2 years. Ball joints, tie rod ends, track bar, etc all done around Christmas time last year, also tightened the steering box and replaced the ingeniously designed steering shaft as well. All were done with OEM, I didn't have the money at the time to go upgraded, but thus far everything is still tight.

Yeah my whole front end has been done too. Except a new steering box. I havent tightened my current one either though. Can I get long arms with a 2.5 lift? lol
