My 09 Ram 1500 has an extremely annoying creak in the front end every time I go over a bump or turn the wheel. I just replaced the struts and that didn't do it. I know the one side (where the noise is the worst) the inner tie rod seal is cracked open but I don't think that's the issue. It honestly sounds like an old spring mattress that creaks any time you move. Performance isn't an issue but just really annoying and want it fixed. Any idea what might be the culprit?

You could look at
sway bar bushings
body/frame rubber
Motor mounts - probably not

Really look at any place where you have any rubber parts.

I know the creaking sound you are talking about - it is hard to find.

Check out Fluid Film on those parts - it could help.

The sway bar end links are bad about making some nasty noises. It also could be a dry ball joint.

Had to reply because you gave exact same description I had of the old mattress springs. My last truck started having the same noise finally tracked it to ball joints. It was a 99 so I greased them and it went away completly. Can't say for sure same issue but I have chased that creak successfully

You say why? I say why not?

Well I used an entire can of silicone on every moving part under the front end to no avail. Going to break down and take it to the mechanic. They assume it's the ball joints as well. Will update if I find out anything different. Thank you for all the replies.

I have never done it but there is a way to inject grease into those sealed bearings with a grease needle. Be an inexpensive test. It appears easy enough but won't speak for or against it. Since I have no experience doing it

I agree with Ram_fish. Ive done it if they are sealed like the upper ball joints are. Ive taken a drill bit the size of or smaller than a wd40 straw and made a hole in the boot. The smaller the better because you dont need a gaping hole that collects water and dirt. I usually spray white lithium grease inside aiming towards the ball and socket. and that works until I can use my grease gun with the needle attachment.
