Replaced both lower ball joints. Autozone Duralast pieces, made in US. Stamped Federal Mogul Sterling. Even better greasable :headbang:

103,000 miles and driver side gave up. Started with a squeak and eventually became a loud grind when turning or just slight movement in suspension. Found boot intact but no grease inside. Looked like dried mud.

Did passenger side also. It was quiet but had very slight play in it. Boot was ripped but seemed to move smoothly still.

How bad was it? Did you use a press from the local parts store? My driver's side is toast so I was gonna do them all.

Blew out both UCAs on my way to a Local Mopar meet. Front passenger side tires balance is so bad they said my tire was jumping around and the shock blew out.
God I love Tennessee roads.
Got new UCAs to fix it shock I've got and now to do a bead balancing on that tire if I can pop the bead.
It's also raining so I have a fun day ahead of me tomorrow if i get the chance to do the work.

I've been neglecting the old girl for the past couple weeks trying to get everything setup for my new business, fixing some stuff around the house, and getting my son's Audi ready for him to start driving it...... So today I broke out the detailing stuff and gave her a good cleaning.

What was the squeak like?

When my UCA and LCA went out the squeak was like more of a door creaking but everytime I hit a bump and turned. way I could tell was I'd put down the windows and drive through a neighborhood and U-turn on some driveways. But then again that was mixed with bad shocks.

Not a bad job really.

Used large swing arm puller(out of tool kit from Harbor Freight) to pop ball joint from steering knuckle. I had a press and it should have went smoothly but could not get them to budge. Didn't want to use a pipe and end up deflecting tool. Original ball joints very tough top side. Ended up using a 3lb hammer and few smacks it moved and got it flush with top of arm. Then used a nice thick driver to hit with hammer to drive it fully out. No issues using press to put new ones in. Just wipe some WD40 on surface pressing into arm. Just watch direction boot needs to be. It was marked where grease would come out.

My favorite tool sometimes. When something needs coming apart and refuses to place nice :favorites13:
