It is possible to remove this chrome piece and wrap, plasti-dip or paint it? The sun reflects and it is terribly annoying.

i had the same issue on the center console handle. I taped the area off and used plasti-dip. Did a couple coats, worked like a charm. Your area looks a little more technical, but you could try it.

After looking through multiple pages of threads, looks like other people have wrapped it. On the 2015s does the ring pop off or did everyone wrap it in place?

It looks like another "Blinding ring of death" post. I had this problem in both my RAM's also but I kind of halfassed it and just put a strip of electrical tape on that left side where the sun reflects off of it. That piece does pop off but you half to be extremely careful removing it because it has clips under it which can break off. Using vinyl wrap to cover it seems to be a pretty popular way of covering it.

I really wish people who designed the interiors of these vehicles had to live with them for a year. My mother-in-law had a Caliber for several years and it came with a beautiful "chrome" cap on top of the shifter, which would absolutely blind the driver during summer months. Chrome belongs on the OUTSIDE of the vehicle, not in it.

On the '15s and newer you cannot remove the trim ring. There are guys on here that have done really nice work wrapping it with vinyl, like carbon fiber. Do a search and you should find the threads.

I think @quietpeen was one of the guys who did it.

Yes I did vinyl wrap that chrome ring and like stated above it does not pop off. It is held on with plastic welds. I also wrapped the chrome ring on the radio bezel

Nicely done, indeed. Will be doing the same thing. Glad I didn't try to pry the ring up and break it.

i wrapped that ring in the truck but the whole top part comes out of the truck pretty easily. It would be much easier to do out of the truck

IMG_1358.JPG I did the perforated vinyl that made for tinting lights. Plain black was too boring. I do like carbon fiber as others have done but I felt if that was the only accent it would beg for more. IMG_1357.JPG

Quick Shifter, did you take the ring off to do that, and if so, how did you get it off? I have the same year and set up as you.

Yes the ring is held in with clips. I used a plastic interior pry tool to lift strait up a little at a time while working around the edges
