So can I just get the correct lights and install/plug them in and they’ll work? Like on the front floor lights.

If you have the wires that run from under the carpet to the plug in place, then yes. Many trucks have the connectors hanging there with no wires (they seem to attach the connectors at the seat factory). The factory lights are in multiple pieces and are embedded in the bottom of the seats. The problem others have run into in the past is that depending on the seat, there there may be no place inside to clip the light fixture into. This is definitely the case with the bench seat. I have a 3D printed piece in the works to fix this, but I am stalled in my testing due to the cold weather. I hope to have it available for others to use sometime this spring.
If you're not determined to have the factory type lighting, you can use the wiring to power any number of aftermarket LEDs.
These are the parts for the factory lighting, you need 2 of each. I got mine from @AllMoparParts.com. They are a sponsor here, have good prices and offer free shipping to forum members.

If you don't want to cut the in place wiring, you'll need one each of these (actually, just the pins out of it). I can't recall which side is which, my truck had no wires on either side, so I needed both types of pins. Order the correct one for your trucks needs).

when do these lights come on? do the turn on when you open the door or do you have to turn the head lights on for them to be on ambiently?
awesome thank you! im going to look into thisThey turn on when the interior lights turn on. (Open door etc.)
.
So if this is just got the footwell lighting, why do I have 4 wires on each side?
Only thing I can think of is heated seats.
