It's for the rear underseat (footwell) lighting and rear heated seats on the higher trim models.

So can I just get the correct lights and install/plug them in and they’ll work? Like on the front floor lights.

I don't see why they wouldn't. Use an electrical tester to see if you have power to the plug.

Yes, the plug is for under seat lighting. The factory light is several parts so I just ordered the mating connector, cut the end off and soldered my own lights I had. I used a 3/4 round light that fit in the factory holder and added a sticky back strip for additional light.
My truck is a mega cab so a crew my be slightly different?

If you have the wires that run from under the carpet to the plug in place, then yes. Many trucks have the connectors hanging there with no wires (they seem to attach the connectors at the seat factory). The factory lights are in multiple pieces and are embedded in the bottom of the seats. The problem others have run into in the past is that depending on the seat, there there may be no place inside to clip the light fixture into. This is definitely the case with the bench seat. I have a 3D printed piece in the works to fix this, but I am stalled in my testing due to the cold weather. I hope to have it available for others to use sometime this spring.

If you're not determined to have the factory type lighting, you can use the wiring to power any number of aftermarket LEDs.

These are the parts for the factory lighting, you need 2 of each. I got mine from @AllMoparParts.com. They are a sponsor here, have good prices and offer free shipping to forum members.

If you don't want to cut the in place wiring, you'll need one each of these (actually, just the pins out of it). I can't recall which side is which, my truck had no wires on either side, so I needed both types of pins. Order the correct one for your trucks needs).

Thank you for the info. I do have the bench seat and it is definitely not worth the work for these, to me. If it was simple, I’d do it just for the hell of it. I did the fronts and I don’t even notice it, but it was easy and cheap. Lol

They turn on when the interior lights turn on. (Open door etc.)

So if this is just got the footwell lighting, why do I have 4 wires on each side?

Only thing I can think of is heated seats.

If I have the wiring for heated seats, anything else useful I can use those wires for?

And you would be correct. :)
