I've got one, I had a car stereo shop tap the power and run the wire to the top of the windshield (they charged me $50). they tapped into the charging port inside the console next to the cup holders (it is keyed).

Got a few daytime pics, the power wire just hangs down from the headliner, the install shop did all the running from the console, under the dash and up the pillar. If i want to hide the pwer wite i can just tuck it in.e4476a1bfc8af122ec7c30c866583813.jpgf1c8af4ffb4c9adb076b9dc088a76dfb.jpg0c11b4a106872090453879c98cc3b9c2.jpg

I wanna get one too! I like the thinkware. They can be hard wired in. Comes with front and rear cameras.

Look at the 800 series [emoji106][emoji106]

Thats a nice and clean install. Did you think about tapping into the rear view mirror for power? I'm wondering if that is an option.

Thanks, no, I actually ran the wire down the A pillar and hooked it up to the Power Magic Pro hardwire kit. I mounted it under the console and tapped into the circuit for the accessory outlet. Back when I got it there weren't that many options like their is today, and I like the fact that it has a switch where I can enable or disable parking mode, even though it does monitor battery level.

I hard wired into the mirror wiring. Didn't use the pin method, used a 12v to 5v 3amp converter and tapped right into the wiring.

Tapped mine to the rear slider switch in overhead console, took around 15-30 mins using twist taps, main time was just taking console out. $10 hardwire kit from Amazon, make sure you know what power connector it uses, some use micro usb, some usb c etc. Also some hardwire kits have 3-5 different plugs so is universal. Only wire you see is from console to cam, about 5 inches. Never a single issue with this setup in a couple years.

Thats what I did too (with a different converter). Can't remember the name off hand but there is also a company that sells the converter with pins already soldered to the power side.

Yep DonGar. I just don't want to spend double when I have the pins laying around! :)

BlackVue also has a power adapter that connects to the OBD port. You can have it on and off with the car, off after a few hours, or off when a battery voltage is reached.

They have one and two camera options, with interior, window, or bumper options for the rear camera.
