Yes, you should have no rubbing issues at all.

I will find out Saturday when I bring the new PW to the tire shop...also going for 35/12.5/R17.

yep no problem at all. And you can even get the spare tire in factory spot without any air and a bit of helping

Man I wish I'd saved the money on a matching spare tire..
I only got it back up there with the help of a couple buddies and a jar of lube...
I figure if I'm just using it to get me home the factory 33 isn't likely to cause me any issues and weighs less too.
( I never thought to let the air out but what good would a flat spare do me anyway?)

You keep a portable air compressor in the truck. Also good if you like to air down a bit for off roading.

My toyo 35’s 35/12.5-17 rub under certain conditions and the are on aev wheels. A little rubbing does not hurt anythig.

Running five 35" Toyos @ 37 PSI on the OEM factory aluminum wheels (ditched the steel). It gets easier at every tire rotation to get the spare tire at pressure in the factory spot.
